While these changes are certainly for the better, a notable reprise that might alienate players early-on is the Fatigue system. There are also more classes to choose from than ever before. The entire beginning area, for example, has been revamped and levelling up is now far faster than before. I should point out that if you did experience Dungeon Fighter Online before, during the shitty-Nexon days, then much of the game has been changed. The more you understand how to combo with your character and work off cool-downs on your skills, and your opponent’s, the more you’ll eventually keep winning and ranking up. Hours and hours can be spent just joining or creating rooms and fighting whoever passes your way with the main goal being getting to know your characters ins and outs perfectly. With the LARGE variety in classes in the game, you can naturally expect to have to approach every fight differently, but what still surprises me most is how much fun it all is. Here, there’s the classic good-old fashioned 1v1 Match the Free-For-All Brawl for up to 8 players, for extra random mayhem Team Matches, that support 2v2, 3v3, and 4v4 duels and finally there’s Elimination Matches, which are a bit like Team Matches, but with matches take place 1v1, where the first team to KO all the oppositions players reigns the victor. Once unlocked at level 35, you can enter an area to test your skill against other players in a variety of different match types. It’s important to point out that besides the whole Player Versus Environment (or PvE) side of the game - meaning the whole dungeon-crawling part - a massive part of Dungeon Fighter Online involves ranking off against other real-life players (PvP). The result is a ton of variety meaning that everyone can find a play-style that matches them. Basically this is one example but every basic class splits into multiple subclasses that all play as differently. Asuras are a tanky magic class, sporting the heaviest, strongest armor in the game. They’re slow, but absurdly powerful with large Area-of-Effect skills. Soul Benders is a cloth-armor wearing mage, who summons ghosts that de-buffs enemies and buff their party members within a certain range. Berserkers are a wild departure from the rest, as they sacrifice their own HP to buff themselves, and specialize in the “Bleed’ status effect to get additional effects from their attacks. For example, at level 15, the basic class “Slayer” splits into one of four subclasses: Blademaster, Berserker, Soul Bender, and Asura.īlademaster is the closest to the basic Slayer you’ll find, as they specialize in utilizing every weapon available to Slayers, and different weapons will provide different buffs and effects. This is where the game fully opens up and where you can unlock a wild assortment of new abilities. As of May 4th, you can reach level 15 in about 90 minutes, and at this point you are given the option to “Class Advance” into a sub-class. Like most, if not all, MMOs a major part of the fun comes from levelling-up characters. You choose a base-class to play as and can equip basic skills to use all the while earning gear/money/and all that good stuff you’re used to finding in MMOs.
